Creating your first membership
Set up the plans your members pay for, so you can enroll members and sell online.
On this page
A membership is the plan your members pay for. You need at least one before you can enroll a member on a paid plan or sell a spot on a checkout page, so this is one of the first things to set up.
Create a membership
- Open Memberships from the main navigation.
- Click New Membership.
- Give the plan a name in the Title field. This is the only field required to save.
- Choose how it bills and, for a recurring plan, set the price and interval (see below).
- Click Save.
Your new plan is immediately available to assign to members and to offer on a join page.
Billing types
When you create a plan you pick how it charges:
- Recurring - ongoing dues that bill automatically on an interval such as monthly.
- One-time - a single fixed charge, for a pass or a joining fee.
- Free - a no-charge plan.
Only the name is required to save the plan, so you can start simple and refine the pricing later.
What you can do next
- Assign the plan from any member's profile and take the first payment.
- Add the plan to a checkout page so prospects can join and pay online.
- Attach a membership agreement so members sign your terms when they join.
Taking real payments requires your gym's Stripe account to be connected first. See Set up billing for your gym.
